Decorative hardware is meant to be a decor element and allows you to add more interest with pieces like finials, colored rods and large, decorative brackets. Just as with custom draperies, the sky is the limit when it comes to decorative hardware. This is another chance to pick up on a theme in the room or to add a metallic touch. Coordinating rings, rods, finials and holdbacks can really tie together an overall look when used properly. Even the options that come in home stores have become much more wide ranging.
PVC and vinyl railings are popular alternatives of wood. But the colors are limited, white is the most common color for such railings. Designs available are the same as those of wooden railings, but vinyl railing does not deform and not need repainting or sealing. This type of railings should be cleaned regularly for a clean look.
Powder Room With Orange Art Deco Wallpaper. This eclectic bathroom by Designstiles features a beautiful art deco orange wallpaper, which becomes the star of the show in this space. A round mat recalls the circular shapes on the wallpaper, and a mirror with a fantastic frame adds the perfect finishing touch.
A touch of drama. Even the brightest, most cheerful bedrooms need an element of dark, sexy glamour. Balance is key. Stick with a few dramatic pieces, like the bedroom in this Windsor Terrace home that features a bed frame upholstered in a Lake August fabric and is topped with a vintage Moroccan blanket.
