Types of Kitchen Cabinets, when selecting your kitchen cabinets, you should definitely know the difference between the two major types: face frame and frameless. Traditionally, cabinet doorstyles are face‐frame which basically means that there is a solid wood frame between the cabinet doors which is also very important element for the cabinet's support. In frameless cabinets, the door hinges are directly on the sides of the kitchen cabinet's box and overlay the edges of the cabinet with hardly any reveal.
The most formal and least natural effect is of course derived from strict symmetry, while asymmetrical balance can produce a clear, logical composition, which is also more stimulating and less contrived. Neither do geometrical shapes necessarily imply straight lines and right‐angles. Curved lines are softer and more natural in feel than straight ones, but to maintain the underlying strength of the design, the radius of the curve should equal or be proportionate to other prominent lines in the garden.
